Tax Preparation Procedures:
New Client Procedures:
All new clients are encouraged to call for a complimentary 15 minute consultation with a tax
professional. We also offer a free review of the past 3 years tax returns. Our experience has shown
us that over 65% of business owners and 15-20% of other taxpayers overpay their taxes by not
having a full understanding of the tax law. If we find any omissions that resulted in an overpayment,
we will fully explain our costs to amend the returns and your expected refund. In this manner, you
can make and informed decision on filing amendments or not.
Step 1. Send in your information
Fill out the Tax Organizer. This is found in the "Forms" button to your left.
Fax or e-mail copies of your W-2's, 1099's. If you are a new client, I will need at least last
year's return. I recommend sending the last 3 years to ensure you have taken all legal
deductions you are entitled to. Depending on your situation, I may require some more items. I
will let you know when I do.
Step 2. Your retainer.
A retainer for half (1/2) of the expected fee is required to begin preparation of your return. This
fee will be full applied to your final balance.
Step 3. Your Tax Return is prepared.
After your initial input, all returns and information in the Tax Organizer are reviewed to uncover
as many tax savings as legally possible. Any questions can normally be resolved via e-mail.
Step 4. Payment of the final Fee
Once the final return is completed, your total fee will be calculated and retainer applied. Any
balance remaining is due before the return can be released.
Step 5. Your Return is finalized
There are 3 possible ways to finalize your return.
1. Paper return sent to you. Your completed return will be mailed to you via US mail or
US Priority Mail for $10.00 additional charge along with copies for your records and
instructions about where to sign and send the return.
2. Electronic filing ($15.00 extra charge)
Once your return is completed, I fax you an authorization form, your sign the form and
fax it back to me. I handle the rest. Any refund your are expecting should be received
2-3 weeks earlier. I can then send you a copy for your records via US Mail or US Priority
Mail ($10.00 extra charge).
3. Visit our office. We'd love to meet you!!
If you live in the Houston area, you are welcome to make an appointment to come by
the office and finalize your return. You would need to bring tour W-2s if applicable and
a the final fee if not already paid. You will sign your returns and we'll mail them for
you. Very easy and almost painless!
